Vijay Garg
ACTING PRESIDENT, COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE
With his core competencies and extensive work in the fields of Architecture & Architectural Education as a profession, Ar. Vijay Garg is renowned and respected for his organizing skills and commitment to the betterment of Architectural Education and the profession.
Having graduated from the prestigious School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, Ar. Garg has since been part of various Committees, forums, and organizations such as IIA, International Union of Architects, Paris, Citizens National Days Celebration Committee, ARCASIA, AICTE, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi & Bhopal and Council of Architecture. He has successfully executed and managed a multitude of Architectural activities at various levels and capacities.
Ar. Garg is a practicing Architect and has won many National Level Design Competitions. He has founded the firms “Vastuki Consultants” and “Design Consultants”. He has also served as Adviser to many Districts of Rajasthan and is in the profession for more than 25 years. He is presently the Acting President of the COA, Council Member of AICTE Advisor to Delhi Government PWD Minister. He has been a visiting Professor at SPA Delhi for the past few years.
All these years of varied experience of Ar. Garg’s shows his commitment towards the profession which has materialized in the form of his presence in many professional forums that stand for Architectural excellence.
Apart from having been the President and Secretary of the SPA Alumni Association, Ar. Garg is Member of Academic Council’s of SPA New Delhi and SPA Bhopal. He has also been Member of Educational Jury for Architecture Course for Aligarh Muslim University, Biju Patnaik University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, School of Planning & Architecture, Vijaywada, Indira Gandhi National Open University, UP Technical University and Indian institute of Architects.
With his various and varied efforts, Ar. Garg has persuaded the Government of Karnataka to have a single window mechanism all over the State of Karnataka for empanelment of Architects rather than having registration with each and every local body in the State. His untiring journey to raise the bar of the profession continues.
