Aligning Design with Allied Fields

Environmental Psychology

Architecture is one of the few fields which takes inference from every discipline to ensure the most optimum solution. Although popularised as a perfect blend of aesthetics and technology, architecture touches lives - It sets the backdrop for events and occasions in people's lives. However, this quality - to make or mar experiences, is often ignored. Architecture should observe, study and weigh the impact of various design alternatives on environment, market, society and individual lives. This course focuses on the design of Spaces from the perspective of Human emotions, actions and reactions.

Course takeaways

  • Use concepts in core psychology to rationally resolve design problems

  • Learn to apply psychology right from developing briefs, to circulation diagrams, to the final design of spaces

  • Develop understanding of cross disciplinary thinking process
