This is an open session discussing your concerns and strategizing the course of action to help Build Resilience on all fronts.

The discussion would include strategies to build resilience from within IIA and would address issues of the fraternity, academia and practising professionals. The uncertainties that have surfaced due to the current Pandemic and the impact on our Profession, Academia and the entire Ecosystem of the multiple stakeholders of the Construction Industry will also be focused on. How could we all rally together, working with the Government and agencies of change to secure a more resilient future?

Graduated in Architecture in 1976 from IIT, Roorkee, India.During his more than four decades in the profession, he has been associated with a vast mosaic of professional involvement beginning with his training under the able guidance of a distinguished and nationally acclaimed professor, Late Shri Raj Kumar Sahu, followed with a six year work experience with internationally renowned Master Architect Shri Raj Rewal and finally as a practising architect at Delhi since 1982. He has also served as member of The Board of Studies, Academic Councils, Executive Councils & Board of Governors of several institutions imparting architectural education in India. Currently he is representing IIA on SPA Council. He has been elected / nominated to various Professional institutional positions throughout career. Presently, he is the President of the Indian Institute of Architects & Member, Council of Union of International Architects.

Vijay Narnapatti

Founder, mayaPRAXIS design+architecture

Vijay Sambasivam Narnapatti is an architect, urbanist and design educator based in Bangalore. He founded mayaPRAXIS design+architecture with partner Dimple Mittal in 2001. mayaPRAXIS has won reward and international recognition for its architectural design work. In 2012, mayaPRAXIS was featured as one of the Practices of Consequence by the Indian Architect and Builder and one of the Emerging Practices of India by Arch Daily. Vijay is a Professor in the School of Architecture Christ, Bengaluru and a Founding Faculty of the school. He has lectured around the country in various events, been an organiser, panellist or moderator in some. He is also part of research and interest groups that look into aspects of urbanism in the context of Bangalore. He has also penned a few articles and papers. Vijay received his Bachelors degree in Architecture from School of Planning and Architecture New Delhi in 1992 and a Master of Science in History and Theory of architecture from the School of Design Architecture Art and Planning at the University of Cincinnatti [USA] in 1997.
