Urban Designer
Abhishek is a planner, urban designer, and architect who specialises on the integration of the public realm with the urban built environment. Over the last 12 years, he has worked in four countries and has gathered experience in the design and revitalisation of waterfronts, streets, and transit corridors as assets of the community and tools for improving quality of life. He brings a unique experience of understanding the local community and culture, and integrating these elements into planning and design.
This is an online course where individual learners can enjoy a learn-at-your-pace system. The entire course is divided into 5 modules. Every module is divided into multiple short lectures of 7-15 minutes. Modules consist of assignments, MCQs, additional resources and an interactive interface that can be accessed by the learner for the rest of their lives.

Urban Policy, Governance, Planning- discuss specific provisions in the Constitution of India like 73rd CAA, 1992, 12th schedule, how urban planning evolved in India, institutions related to urban development, planning and various sectors, the evolution of urban governance and its present situation with examples from various cities and sectors
Day 3: Urbanisation
Urbanisation – Historical Overview and Contemporary trends
Day 4: Urban Concepts
Urban concepts and theories- globalization, informality, place making, gentrification, urbanity, urbanism, city utopias like global cities and smart cities with critiques.
