Course Brief

If you are curious to discover,

  • How complex architectural forms are designed? ,
  • The logic behind such architectural marvels, and
  • How can you develop your own computational thinking?

This course is for you. Here we aim to get you comfortable with the design thinking that goes behind parametric modelling. With one-on- one live sessions, we make sure that you get the best learning and doubt clearing experience. When you understand how it works, you can feel free and independent to build whatever you want to build (and based on our rich experience of tutoring in this field, we know that anyone can do it).

Course Benefit

  • Master Rhino and Grasshopper from scratch.

  • Earn a Certificate upon completion

  • Get 1:1 guidance to create a project of your choice.

  • Quick query resolution through internal chat system and live classes.

  • Learn to create your own workflow in Rhino using professional method

  • Develop design thinking process to create complex geometry.

Course Outcome

Our vision at Acedge is to create a platform for students and professionals where they can realise and absorb the true essence of computational design thinking. Parametricism is just not about fancy forms and fluid architecture, rather our aim is to let you understand the following.

  • What is Computational Design?

  • What are computational design tools?

  • How computational design will change the way you work?

Course Mentor

Ar. Piyush Prajapati
Computational Urban Designers | Masters in Urban Design, UCL London

Piyush is an architect and a computational urban designer working in Dubai. Born in India, he graduated from Government College of Architecture, Lucknow, India (2014) and later on pursued Masters in Urban Design from Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, London, U.K. He is known and felicitated for his research that was up for an exhibition at the Pompidou Centre, Paris in 2020. He was invited to speak on Big data and AI in Architecture in an international conference, Build IT and won a Computational Medal and distinction for his Design Project at UCL in 2014. Conferred with  Best Architectural Thesis by Council of Architecture in 2014, he has found recognition in the Middle East, MEA and Museum of Architecture, Slovenia. Conservation Project recognition by President of India (2015)

Why Computational Design?

Computational design tools make it easier to simulate building performance through the design process. Want to know how much daylight you can expect on a partially cloudy day in March? Create a tool through this course that helps you measures this.

With this course, our intent is to make sure you understand computational logic and are confident in its application.

FAQ

  • Who all can take this course?

The demand for computational design is expanding beyond the confines of only architecture. Be it automobile, jewellery interior design. Anyone interested in learning computational design, rhino or grasshopper, can enrol themselves for the course.

  • I am in my first year of graduation. Can I take this course?

Absolutely. It is suitable for first year students as well.

  • Is any prior knowledge required?

The course is structured and tailored as per the needs of the students, graduate architects and design students. No prior knowledge of grasshopper3D or Rhino is required.

  • If I miss a session, will I get to see the recorded lecture?

We understand that a visual repository is needed to learn a software, so we will support learners with recordings. Though the recordings will be up till 16th of July.

  • How do I get my query resolved?

Our team is here to help you. You will be assigned a coordinator whom you can contact for any query between and after the sessions!

  • I don't have the software. Can I attend the course?

Absolutely! Some of you might be new to the software, and we understand that. Before the batch starts, our team will make sure you are well prepared and ready.

  • Will I get a certificate?

Yes. This is a certified course. You will be provided with a certificate.
