The study in computation design with digital support started in 1960s. This almost coincided with the launch of Sketchpad, the first true CAD software. 'The Architecture Machine', published in 1970 by architect and computer scientist Nicholas Negroponte of MIT described early research on computer-aided design, and in so doing covered early work on human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and computer graphics. We have come a long way since then. With the pandemic changing the way we design, compute, collaborate and interact, it has also changed the tools of these actions.
