This course is for architecture and interior design students and young professionals, to help them confidently undertake projects and get a better grip over practical aspects like Contract/Working Drawings, Estimation and Costing. It covers topics like estimation, budgeting, units and formats for measuring quantities, preparing BOQs, rate analysis, etc. It also details the flow of work and project cycles for for selected architecture, interior, and landscape projects.

Mona Doctor Pingel

Founder, Studio Naqshbandi, Auroville

Mona Doctor-Pingel is an architect based in Auroville since 1995. She studied architecture at the Center for Environment and Planning (CEPT), Ahmedabad (1984 -90), and has a master’s degree in Appropriate Technology from Flensburg University, Germany (1992-94). She has a small independent set-up where she experiments with sustainable building technologies using local materials and craftsmen with a stress on client interaction. One of the key guiding principles in her work is the creation of buildings which are healthy (sick building syndrome) taking into account factors like electromagnetic fields, use of natural materials and earth energies. The inside-outside relationship forms an important part of her practice since buildings are not to be seen in isolation but as a whole with the surroundings. Her project, Yantra, got a special mention in the Landscape Design category in the A+D & spectrum Foundation Architecture Awards, 2004.

Sarika Shetty

Design Director

Sarika’s formative years at KRVIA- Mumbai allowed for self-expression in design while being assisted and guided by great mentors. In 2002, she won the KRVIA & Mumbai University Gold Medal for best student. Post her thesis, she joined SJK Architects as an intern in December 2001 and has celebrated an enriching 20 years of experience cutting across various scales, genres, building typologies, diverse sites and clients. Her passion and constant endeavour to improve be it design, minutest details, specifications or maintain a high-quality execution at every stage is infectious and drives the team at SJK. Her constant quest for learning and exploring has made her a nature lover. She finds her solace in nature and whenever time permits, she tries to experience the jungle with her teenage daughter. She has been awarded the iGen 2017 for her contribution to design and she strongly believes that with the right attitude and immense passion, any challenge can be created into an opportunity.

Ar Prachi Bafna is an architect from Mumbai University. She is passionate about academics and professional practice, with 7+ years of experience in handling different scales of projects with her firm White Line Dezign, Coimbatore. She also has 4+ years of Teaching Experience at Hindusthan College of Architecture, Coimbatore, and Karpagam College of Architecture. She conducts workshops in various universities & colleges, to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

  • Will admissions to the Summer School only be through the Application form?

    If all seats get filled by applicants the summer school will close slots. Else the course will be opened for direct enrollment after 5th May 2021.

  • Why is there a deposit for Full Scholarship?

    The deposit is entirely refundable. The deposit is the simplest way we know to ensure dedication. The criteria for refund are 100% attendance and submission of all assignments (marks are not the criterion)

  • What will happen if we miss a class?

    Recordings are available for all classes, however, attendance will affect your chances of getting the Aced it certificate! Our Attendance & Assignment criteria for Gold Acedge It Certificate are at least 70% attendance and at least 50% score in assignments.

  • When will you let us know about the results of the application?

    We will intimate the results on 8th May and the invited participants will have to follow the admission procedure before 15th May 2021.
